ERITREE Canada
is a Canadian Charitable Organization that has been in operation
in Toronto since 1979. ERA-Canada, which is the former name of ERITREE was
originally formed with the following objectives:
- To Provide humanitarian aid to victims of war, drought and famine
- To assist development programs in the horn of Africa.
- To conduct development education in Canada.
- To provide information and to help facilitate communication between
Eritrean and Canadian NGOs.
ERITREE has a long, proud history of having successfully completed many major
development projects in Eritrea.
OXFAM praised the ERA network as "the most efficient relief operation in Africa"
(The Guardian April 6, 1990). After Eritrea gained its independence, ERITREE
has been focusing on long term integrated agricultural rehabilitation programs
in Eritrea. It has been primarily involved in Afforestation, soil and water
conservation programs to rebuild Eritrea's ecosystem.
ERITREE channels its funds through Eritrean Relief and Rehabilitation Committee
(ERRC) and other local NGOs in Eritrea. Our Revenue Canada Registration Number
is 890628563-RR0001.
