According to official sources in Eritrea, close to one third of the population of 3.6 million is affected by a combination of drought, current conflict with Ethiopia and departation of ethnic Eritreans from Ethiopia.

The World Food Program (WFP) has indicated that over 370,000 people are in dangered by severe drought that has affected some parts of Eritrea for two consecutive years.

Eritree is launching this project to mobilize humanitarian assistance from Canadian sources. Our target is to be able to raise 2% of the requested budget from Canadian NGOs and individual donors.

The funds raised in this project will be channeled through ERITREE, which is a registered Canadian charity organization. ERITREE and its predecessor ERA-Canada have been involved in development projects for almost TWENTY Years since 1979.
